Troop 389 Website Privacy Notice

Troop 389 policy is to comply with all of the requirements of the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act and the Boy Scouts of America National Capital Area Council’s Unit Website guidelines.  More information about the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act can be found on the Federal Trade Commission Website.  Information about BSA Website Guidelines can be found on the Boy Scouts of America National Capital Area Council Website. 

The Troop 389 website does not:

• collect, publish, or disclose individually identifiable information about a child/scout such as full name, home address, email address, telephone number or any other information that would allow someone to identify or contact the child.  This includes other types of information  such as hobbies, interests, etc.
• collect information through cookies or other types of tracking mechanisms
• associate the first name of a child/scout with any picture

Parents may opt out, on an individual or permanent basis, of having the first name and/or pictures of their child/scout published on this website.  At any time a parent can direct that any use of the child/scout first name and/or picture be deleted from the troop website.

This website will be monitored by various adults from Troop 389.  Youth Protection is our troop's highest priority.  Please notify the webmaster@mahtomeditroop389.com of any:

• requests to remove your child/scout's pictures from the website

• issues with complying with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act

• issues with complying with the Boy Scouts of America National Capital Area Council’s Unit Website guidelines
